Bangladeshi ministers call for former PM Begum Khaleda Zia's arrest

Dhaka, Jan 22(ANI): Ministers of ruling Awami League-led government in Bangladesh held rallies across capital Dhaka demanding arrest of former Prime Minister, Begum Khaleda Zia, for her association with an Islamist party that is accused of war crimes. The ministers addressed rallies in the city even as a 48-hour general strike call was given by opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) earlier in the day. As per reports, Zia, was released on January 19 after a house arrest of 16 days, amid renewed violence over last year's disputed polls. The violence has worsened steadily since January 5, when protests erupted over last year's election, which was boycotted by the BNP. Jan 22, 2015

Jaipur set to welcome authors, publishers for literature festival

Jaipur, Jan 21 (ANI): India's pink city Jaipur will welcome authors, writers, speakers at Asia's largest literary festival which begins on Wednesday (January 21). Regional language novelists and writers will rub shoulders with Man Booker prize winners and Nobel laureates at the 8th edition of Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF), which will be held in Diggi Palace in Jaipur. The writers will converge in the city for five days of readings, debates and discussions. Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje, is scheduled to inaugurate the festival, where over 200,000 visitors are expected. The event is seen as an agenda-setter on key issues from the global economic crisis to the rise of e-books, the current state of politics in the Middle East to the increasing importance of Indian language publishing. Hanoi/ Japan, Jan 20 (ANI): In order to meet the rapid growth in electricity demand driven by a growing economy and expanding industrial base, Vietnam has decided to introduce nuclear energy. A developing country with a population of 92.5 million, Vietnam has selected Japan as its partner. The government issued a master plan specifying the project of building nuclear power plants, as the first time in Vietnam and South East Asia. Electric Power University (EPU) in Hanoi, is one of the six universities in Vietnam that are authorized to provide human resource training in nuclear power generation. The University has opened the Department of Nuclear Power in 2010 where students are learning basic knowledge required for nuclear power generation. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is one of the first partners which effectively cooperates and supports Electric Power University and provide nuclear engineering lecture. Recently, "Cool Japan lounge" exhibition was held at AEON Mall Binh Duon Canary in Vietnam by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, as a part of "Cool Japan World Trial" initiatives. PM Modi meets top management of POSCO

New Delhi, Jan 20 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, met Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of multi-national steel making company, POSCO, Kwon Oh-joon and its Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Gee Woong Sung in New Delhi on Tuesday (January 20). Modi also met ambassador of South Korea Joon-Gyu-Lee. Posco's $12 billion steel plant in eastern Odisha state is the largest single foreign direct investment (FDI) project in India. POSCO officials say the company came to India to have a strong base in an emerging economy as its presence in China was below expectations.
