Tokyo, Feb 03 (ANI): In digital cameras, various precision components are used and assembled with high accuracy. The most important of all, the optical lens, exist as the central component. The glass material used for photographic lens is especially called "optical glass". It is the uniformed quality glass with optical function and high transparency. There are more than 200 variations of optical glasses designed for different optical properties such as "refractive index" and "dispersion index". Optical lens is typically produced through process of rough shearing, fine grinding, and polishing, from a lens material which is moulded to a predetermined size including the cut portion. HOYA, the top provider of optical glasses, has recently developed new optical glass material process called "NRP". NRP improves lens material shape accuracy, surface defects less than 1/3rd and the thickness variation accuracy has improved 5 times over the current company standard. It could significantly reduce the allowance of polishing lens and reduce the processing fluctuation. The raw material for optical glass varies by the type of lenses. Acute Electricity Crisis

Muzaffarabad, February 03, 2015: Angry protests over acute electricity crisis, Muzaffarabad comes to a halt. Amid pitch darkness and no electricity, markets are shut, offices locked. Students, common people, residents of Muzaffarabad take to streets every evening like this, tired of load shedding for up to 20 hours every day, these people are angry and agitated. Water and power development authority or WAPDA is solely responsible for the acute power crisis in PoK. WAPDA is diverting PoK's share of electricity to Pakistani towns and cities. As a result, education, business and people from all walks of life, mostly the poor are the worst affected. It is not the first time that people have shut down their businesses and come out to protest against government's arbitrary diversion of electricity. Many times in the past the protests have turned violent. Despite resistance from public, Mangla Dam was raised to divert PoK's natural resources to Pakistan. Whenever opposition intensifies, Pakistan sends them inflated bills. No one is listening to the cries of common people of PoK. The international community should intervene and stop this open loot of natural resources by Pakistan. Feb 3, 2015

Mumbai, Feb 03 (ANI): Reserve Bank of India on Tuesday held interest rates steady while boosting banks' liquidity in a bid to persuade them to lower lending rates after they failed to pass on the benefits of the last official rate cut three weeks ago. The RBI kept its policy repo rate unchanged at 7.75 percent, as expected by analysts, leaving its next reduction probably until after the government presents its annual budget at the end of this month. Instead, to prod banks to lend more and lower their lending rates, the RBI cut the statutory liquidity ratio (SLR) - the minimum portion of net deposits that banks must hold in government bonds, cash or gold - by 50 basis points to 21.5 percent from February. 7. The RBI also announced a slew of initiatives to develop markets, including allowing foreign institutional investors to re-invest government bond coupons even when their investment limits were exhausted. The RBI described the domestic economy as "subdued", regardless of the government revision of gross domestic product data, using a new formula which showed the economy grew 6.9 percent in 2013/14, instead of 4.7 percent.
