BJP accuses Congress leader of stashing black money

New Delhi, Nov 12 (ANI): India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has alleged that many senior leaders of opposition Congress party had stashed black money not only abroad but also at home. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra, during a news briefing accused spokesperson of Congress party, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, of evading taxes and generating black money. Patra was reacting to the Income Tax Department's Settlement Commission move to slap Singhvi with a penalty of Rs. 56.57 crore, and its decision to add over Rs. 91.95 crore to his declared professional income for a period of three years. Patra said that the Income Tax department also contested Singhvi’s claim that he purchased laptops worth rupees five crore for his staff members over three financial years. Nov 12, 2014

Unidentified group vandalises office property in Kerala

Kochi, Nov 10 (ANI): A group of unidentified miscreants, suspected to be Maoists, attacked an office on Monday (November 10), damaging glass walls and vehicles parked inside the compound, in Kerala. The group had their faces covered and was carrying steel pipes when it barged into the corporate office of Nitta Gelatin India Limited (NGIL) in Kochi city. The office's security guard, Victor, who was also an eyewitness to the incident, said the men forcefully entered the premises. Meanwhile, Managing Director of NGIL, Sajiv K Menon, said the men created ruckus in the office. The police are conducting an inquiry into the incident. Nov 10, 2014

The event began early in the morning from the India Gate in New Delhi. The health minister said walking regularly helps to restore life balance, makes people calmer, happier and more positive towards life. The youth today are more under pressure and stress and need to focus on a healthy lifestyle, simple walking can pave the way for one, he said. A number of celebrities, corporate brands and TV networks participated in the event to add to the buzz and energy. CEO of Max Bupa, Manasije Mishra said that this initiative aims to encourage people to have a healthy lifestyle by integrating walking in their daily schedule. Max Bupa Health Insurance Company has organised this health event called 'Max Bupa Walk for Health' in association with news channel 'Times Now'.
