India, France hold joint air exercise in Rajasthan

Jodhpur, June 03 (ANI): India, France held joint air exercises in Rajasthan to strengthen ties and understand operational methods. Both the nations commenced the ten-day air exercise, Garuda V, at Jodhpur's air base. The exercise aims to expose Indian Air Force (IAF) pilots to French fighter and combat tactics and vice-versa. During this fortnight long exercise, both the Air Forces would engage in operations based on their Operational Philosophy and methodology of operations practicing various challenging air situation scenarios. India's defense spokesperson, Colonel SD Goswami, said this exercise would help in strengthening combat relations between the two countries. A team of four KC-135 aircrafts, Rafale fighter jets and mid-air refuellers are to be involved in the joint exercise with the Indian Air Force. Jun 3, 2014
