Gandhinagar, Jan 08 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday formally inaugurated the 13th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, which is being held in Gujarat to mark the centenary of India's, 'Sarva Sreshtha Pravasi Bharatiya', Mahatma Gandhi's return from South Africa to India. Modi called on the Diaspora to participate in growth of India. He also invited the people to use several opportunities waiting for them in India. He said that all the countries of the world, whether developed or poor, are looking at India with immense hope and optimism. He further went on to add that Indian community is admired all around the world not due to the money they possess but the values they live with. Invoking Gandhi, Modi said his philosophies and teachings continue to inspire the world when it comes to humane development and resolving various problems facing the world. New Delhi, Jan 08 (ANI): Hindu Mahasabha will be installing statues of Nathuram Godse, assassin of Mahatma Gandhi, in four districts of Karnataka on the death anniversary of Gandhi. President of Karnataka unit of Hindu Mahasabha Swami Pranavananda Giri said that the organisation demands from the Central government to replace Mahatma Gandhi’s image from currency notes by images of patriotic leaders like Maharana Pratap or Godse. Gandhinagar, Jan 08 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 13th edition of'Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas' in Gandhinagar on Thursday. About 4000 NRIs from 58 countries are in the city to attend the annual fest that brings together members of the Indian diaspora to engage and discuss investing in India. Earlier he launched the 'Dandi Kutir', a unique exhibition depicting various stages of Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi's life and work. The event marks the centenary of the return to India of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa. He also said that among other events a stamp and coin will be inaugurated at the function featuring images of Mahatma Gandhi as a bachelor and as Father of the Nation. Akbaruddin also informed that Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj met with her South African counterpart Maite Nkoana-Mashabane today and discussed wide range of issues. New Delhi, Jan 07 (ANI): Sikh religious organization Akal Takht commemorated the death anniversary of Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's assassins. NCP leader Majid Memon said that it is up to the organizations whom to pay homage but it is not an issue the country should be concerned about. BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao said that it was unfortunate as Indira Gandhi was one of the nation's leaders and her assassins were punished by law. JD (U) leader Ali Anwar also condemned the incident.
