Wagah Border, Jan 30 (ANI): Pakistan ambassador to India, Abdul Basit expressed concern over India-US nuclear deal. Pakistan said that the deal, which was signed during President Barack Obama visit to New Delhi, would have a detrimental impact on deterrence stability in South Asia. Further, it termed the agreement a move for political and economic expediencies. Explaining his absence from New Delhi during Obama’s visit, Basit said he was on a private visit to Pakistan. Islamabad also opposed New Delhi’s bid for membership to the 48-member Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) and a permanent seat in the UN Security Council.
