New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat on his death anniversary. PM Modi was accompanied by Vice President Hamid Ansari and Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Manohar Parrikar at Rajghat. President Pranab Mukherjee also laid floral wreath at the cremation spot of Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. The day is also observed as Martyrs' Day. The three Service Chiefs, Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag, Navy Chief Admiral RK Dhowan and Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha together paid tribute to Gandhiji. On this day in 1948, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated at a prayer meeting. An all-religion prayer meeting has been organised at the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad and Kirti Mandir in Porbandar, the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi. Jan 30, 2015
