Shimla, May 02 (ANI): Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Friday said that the Cabinet has passed decision to appoint judge for commission on snoopgate. Shinde said that the commission of inquiry was ordered much before the model code of conduct was announced. So the announcement of the name of the judge can still happen. It will not be a violation of the model code of conduct. EC issues showcause notice to Punjab CM for making statement on fund raising

New Delhi, May 01 (ANI): The Election Commission has issued a showcase notice to Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for allegedly making a statement asking for funds from people. At an election meeting in Jalandhar, Badal had asked people to give funds to the party secretly for campaigning. The EC, in its notice to Badal, has said, "The Commission is, prima facie, of the opinion that by making such statement you have violated the above said provision of Model Code of Conduct and also incited others to violate the law."
