Congress releases first list of 24 candidates for upcoming Delhi Assembly polls

New Delhi, Jan 1 (ANI): The Congress party on Thursday released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls. Prominent among the 24 names released are that of former Delhi minister Haroon Yusuf , who shall be contesting from Ballimaran; Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) chief Arvinder Singh Lovely, who will contest from Gandhi Nagar; and Chaudhary Mateen Ahmed , who will stand from Seelampur. Congress leaders feel proud as party marks 130th foundation day

New Delhi, Dec 28 (ANI): Congress party, led by the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty, marked its 130th foundation day on Sunday (December 28). Senior Congress party leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad, said winning or losing was a small thing against the sacrifices made by the creators of the party during independence. Kerala gets its very own wax museum

Kochi, Dec 27 (ANI): Kochi city in Kerala got its own wax museum this week. Brainchild of artist Sunil Kandallor, the museum displays wax statues of celebrities from across the world. Some of the popular faces that can be seen at this museum include Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, anti-graft activist, Anna Hazare, Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, and many more. Speaking about the idea behind setting up a wax museum, Kandallor said that he wanted to offer something different to his hometown Kerala. Kandallor hopes to take this museum to the heights of internationally renowned museums like Madame Tussauds. A visitor said that Sunil's Celebrity International Wax Museum is very authentic and it had a promising future. New Delhi, Dec 23 (ANI): Former union minister and senior Congress leader G Venkat Swamy passed away at a private hospital in Hyderabad. Swamy, 85, had been in poor health for some time and was undergoing treatment but on Sunday his condition got worse. Popularly known as 'Kaka', the leader was elected to the assembly of the undivided Andhra Pradesh in 1950 and held several key positions in the government as well in the party. He served in the Indira Gandhi and PV Narasimha Rao Governments and also was Pradesh Congress Chairman for Andhra Pradesh.
