Reactions flow in after Maneka Gandhi says minor rape-accused should be treated on par with adults

New Delhi, July 14 (ANI): Mixed reactions flow in as Minister for women and child development Maneka Gandhi said that minors accused of rape should be treated on par with adults. NCP leader Majid Memon and SP leader Naresh Agarwal said that juvenile act should not be scrapped just like that. While, BSP Chief Mayawati said that the matter has to be discussed before taking any decision on the same. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and DCW Chairperson Barkha Shukla applauded Gandhi and said that in Nirbhaya case too, the juvenile was the cruelest and so the change in the act would be a welcome step.
