New Delhi, Aug 30 (ANI): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday left for his first major bilateral trip to Japan - a country that in his words offers immense scope for cooperation. Modi travels to Japan for a five-day visit, his first major bilateral trip since taking over in May. Modi and host Prime Minister Shinzo Abe are also expected to boost defence ties, speeding up talks on the sale of an amphibious aircraft to the Indian navy. Aug 30, 2014

Encephalitis under control in West Bengal, claims minister

Siliguri, Aug 29 (ANI): Minister for North Bengal Development in the government of West Bengal, Goutam Deb has stated that encephalitis, which turned out to be an epidemic in the state, is under control now. Deb added that appropriate preventive measures are being taken by the officials of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital along with chief medical officers to combat the further spread of the disease and their findings will soon be sent to the health department.
