Condemning reactions flow after textbook in WB terms freedom fighters as terrorists

New Delhi, Aug 07 (ANI): Uproar was raised among historians and politicians as a textbook in West Bengal that termed freedom fighters as terrorists came to light. A history chapter titled _revolutionary terrorism_ describes the activities of freedom fighters like Shahid Khudiram Bose, Jatindranath Mukherjee and Prafulla Chaki as _extremism and terrorism_. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that it should be noticed that who wrote the book and strict action must be taken. SP leader Naresh Agarwal said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee must intervene and ban such books which spread incorrect knowledge. Meanwhile, historian S Irfan Habib said that calling freedom fighters as terrorists is incorrect and one should understand their cause of fight and look for alternate and suitable terms which do not insult our freedom fighters. Politicos react as Rahul Gandhi says only one man's voice counts in India

New Delhi, Aug 6 (ANI): Politicos on Wednesday reacted over Congress Vice-President, Rahul Gandhi, who on Wednesday slammed Speaker of the lower house of parliament, Sumitra Mahajan, and accused her of partial behaviour towards the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Gandhi rushed to the well of the House with his party members and demanded a debate on anti-communal violence bill. He said they were not being allowed to hold a discussion and speak in the parliament. Mahajan had turned down Congress party's request for discussion. As the opposition parties created a ruckus over communal situation in the country, the lower house was adjourned. BJP spokesperson, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, said Rahul was unparliamentarily and showed frustration. Taking a jibe at Rahul, Shiv Sena leader, Sanjay Raut, said he had finally woken up. Political leaders laud PM Modi's maiden visit to Nepal

New Delhi, Aug 4 (ANI): Politicians on Monday hailed the first bilateral visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Nepal, which aimed to scale the ties between the two nations to greater heights. Modi is on a two-day visit to Kathmandu to help speed up negotiations on a power trade pact that is at the centre of his new diplomatic drive. Lauding Modi's Nepal visit, BJP Vice-President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said it would have a greater impact on the relations between the two countries. Earlier on Sunday, Modi offered Nepal $1 billion in concessional loans to help build power plants and roads during his address in Nepal assembly, aimed at shoring up support in a region where China is making inroads.
