Visakhapatnam walks to spread breast cancer awareness

Visakhapatnam, Nov 17 (ANI): Visakhapatnam walked for spreading awareness on breast cancer and the importance of its early detection. The two-kilometre-long ‘Pink Ribbon Walk’ was organized by a state government’s organization on Sunday. Junior Trade Minister, D. Purandeswari, who flagged off the walk said that the country needs to do much more to curb and spread more awareness about breast cancer. Breast cancer, commonest cancer in urban India, accounts for about 30 percent of all cancers in women and around one-lakh cases of breast cancer are detected in India, every year. Doctors advice regular check-ups and at-home-check-for-breast-cancer to detect any signs of lumps. Nov 17, 2013
