Indians soak in devotion at birth place of Lord Krishna

Mathura, Aug 18 (ANI): Thousands of devotees soaked in devotion thronged birthplace of Lord Krishna in Uttar Pradesh on Monday to celebrate his birth anniversary. Chanting hymns and carrying religious offerings, people flocked temples dedicated to the Hindu god in Mathura to mark the festival of Janamashtmi with pageantry. The priests performed rituals in the temples to mark 5240th birthday of Lord Krishna. A devotee, Nishi Khurana, said she was elated to visit Mathura to be a part of the celebration. Aug 18, 2014

Mumbai, August 16 (ANI): Bollywood actors Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor along with director Vishal Bhardwaj promoted their upcoming film, 'Haider', which is based on Shakespeare's Hamlet. Students cheered for the stars as cast and crew of 'Haider' promoted the movie during a college festival in India's showbiz capital, Mumbai on Friday. The film is set in northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir for its volatile political climate. The movie also stars actors Kay Kay Menon and actress Tabu.
