Onion price hike brings tears to common man

Bangalore /Rajouri/Siliguri /Amritsar, July 01 (ANI): People across the nation condemned the hike in onion prices and lamented over the government apathy towards poor and middle classes who are the most deeply affected by the inflation. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has made tackling inflation his top priority after widespread resentment about rising prices contributed to the exit of the previous government last month. However, this has evidently not been successful as the price of this essential vegetable refuses to come down and people are getting more and more frustrated. Muslims across the country thronged markets to shop for the holy month where Hindu Muslim brotherhood are exemplified with the revelry that people of both the community are soaked in. A shopkeeper, Said Ahmad in Bhopal hailed the unity among the communities where Hindu traders also stock items for the Muslim festival. Ramadan is the ninth of 12 months in the Islamic calendar. Women in Manipur become self-reliant by making use of water hyacinth

Manipur, June 25 (ANI): Kharibam Sarju Chanu, a resident of Thongju village in Imphal East district launched Water Hyacinth Crafts Centre, a self-help group, last year. She now provides employment to local women, who produce handicraft items with the use of Water Hyacinth, locally known as Kabowkang, an easily available aquatic weed. Sarju received craft training under a skill development programme organized by the North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Limited (NEDFI).
