Hospital authorities remain apathetic to stampede victims in Patna

Patna, Oct 04 (ANI): Hospital authorities on Saturday were apathetic to the people who are looking for their family members in wake of a stampede that claimed more than 30 lives in Patna. At least 33 people were killed and over 100 injured in a stampede during Dussehra festival celebrations in Patna on Friday, most of them women and a few children. A huge crowd had gathered at an outdoor venue for the burning of effigies of demon king Ravana and his brothers as a part of the Dussehra festival. The stampede happened as people were leaving at the end of the event. On Saturday, the distraught victims could not enter the hospital mortuary to recognize the dead bodies of their family members as gate remained closed due to absence of the concerned person. Kanpur/Varanasi, Oct 03 (ANI): Hundreds of devotees worshipped the mythological demon king Ravana on occasion of Dussehra, which marks the victory of good over evil. Among the devotees in Kanpur, they believe that Ravana was an intellectual man of his times and this is one of his rare temples. The manager of the temple, Tirloki Triwedi said on Friday that the doors of the Dashanan Temple in the town are opened once in a year on the day of Dussehra. Meanwhile, in Varanasi, artists from Kolkata performed traditional form of center stage play for the residents. Both the leaders together paid homage to the statue of the leader of African-American Civil Rights Movement. Modi and Obama drove straight to the Memorial after their summit level talks at the White House. As per initial plan, Modi was to go alone to pay the homage but in last minute change American president also decided to join him.
