FM-Banks Meet: Uday Kotak stresses on mutual fund rather than gold and property investment

New Delhi, June 10 (ANI): Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of a leading private bank, Kotak Mahindra, Uday Kotak said on Tuesday that there needs to be a significant boost for India s financial savers and it is important to move people away from property and gold investments to mutual funds. Banking Secretary GS Sandhu said the government is examining all suggestions put forth by the banking institution heads. President's address to Parliament rehash of govt's election manifesto: CPI (M)

New Delhi, June 09 (ANI): The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) on Monday said that President Pranab Mukherjee's address to the joint session of Parliament is merely a rehash of the election manifesto presented by the incumbent government and not actually a blueprint. Addressing the Parliament, Mukherjee said that the new government would pursue a broad economic reform agenda focused on job creation through public and private investment that also makes containing inflation its top priority. Senior CPI (M) leader, Sitaram Yechury, said the statement was devoid of a blueprint to achieve the targets for the government in the coming year.
