Industries Minister meets fishermen delegation, hopes for concrete solutions

Chennai, Aug 17 (ANI): Minister of State for Heavy Industries, Pon Radhakrishnan, met a delegation of fishermen from his home state, Tamil Nadu who urged him to find a solution to a range of issues. One of the issues that came up in the meeting was the arrest of fishermen by Sri-Lankan authorities, which is just across a narrow straight from the province. The fishermen sought solution to this problem among several others. There are sections in favour of an agreement that would facilitate fishermen from both countries to fish in each others' waters. AAP demands revoking govt's orders that stripped ACB's power to probe govt employees

New Delhi, Aug 12 (ANI): Aam Aadmi party demanded revoking of orders issued by the ruling BJP government that stripped the Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of its powers to probe government employees for bribery. The move was aimed at clipping the powers that the Arvind Kejriwal-led government invoked to book two petroleum ministers earlier this year. AAP leader Sanjay Singh said that they demand immediate repealing of the notification which the government had issued. This notification gave the ACB a free hand to probe offences under the anti-corruption law in Delhi, irrespective of who is involved. Gas pricing: Congress says court will look into matter pertaining to validation of probe against Rel

Bangalore/ New Delhi, Aug 10 (ANI): The anti-graft wing of the Delhi government has filed an affidavit in the high court saying it has jurisdiction to lodge a report against Reliance Industries and former petroleum minister M Veerappa Moily, in the gas pricing issue. Moily said that the matter is in the court and it would be taken care of by the court. Congress and NCP also said that the High Court will have final say in the matter. Meanwhile, AAP accused the former UPA government and said that the agency was right in filing affidavit in the case.
