Police cracks down BSP MLA Haji Aleem Choudhary's wife's murder case

New Delhi, Oct 13 (ANI): Additional Commissioner of Police VV Chaudhary on Sunday confirmed that the Delhi police cracked down the murder case of BSP MLA Haji Aleem Choudhary's wife. He reveled that the police have suspected the involvement of MLA's first wife's business partner, his two sons and driver in the case. The driver and business partner have been arrested and the two sons are still absconding. Rehana Choudhary was found brutally murdered in her house at New Jaffrabad in North-East Delhi on 9th October. Muzaffarnagar riots: Allahabad HC notice to Azam Khan

New Delhi, Oct 10 (ANI): The Allahabad High Court has issued a notice to senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan for allegedly pressing for the release of seven members from the Muslim community named in the murder of two Jats, which triggered the communal backlash in Mazaffarnagar last month claiming at least 48 lives. The court asked Azam Khan to file his counter affidavit within ten days from the receipt of notice. According to reports, the Allahabad High Court also stayed the suspension of an SHO of a police station in Muzaffarnagar where these seven accused were held by the police. The court noted that the allegations leveled against Khan were "serious" and "the chain of incidents show that the matter requires consideration to see the circumstances and to find out whether the same was "in accordance with law" and not "vitiated". Reportedly, the final arguments in the case will be held in the Ghaziabad federal police court. New Delhi, Oct 8 (ANI): The Supreme Court, on Tuesday, commuted former Youth Congress leader Sushil Sharma's death sentence to life imprisonment in the infamous Naina Sahni tandoor murder case. Sharma's counsel had pleaded that the case did not fall in the rarest of the rare category and had submitted the conviction was entirely based on the circumstantial evidence and death penalty cannot be awarded.
