Reliance Industries along with Tendulkar and Bollywood biggies launch ISL

Mumbai, Aug 29 (ANI): Leading business tycoon Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries along with a clutch of sports and Bollywood stars came together to launch a football championship that aims to popularise the game in the cricket-mad country. The tournament is being hailed as 'birth of a foot balling nation'. A host of celebrities from Bollywood and cricket world graced the occasion in Mumbai. Scheduled to start from October 12, Indian Super League (ISL) was officially launched by Ambani's wife Nita Ambani in the presence of Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and other co-owners of the eight franchises from across the country. Indian Super League would also feature Bollywood celebrities like Salman Khan, John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, Varun Dhawan besides the sport's icon Sachin Tendulkar who are keenly associated with the sport. New power station in Kashmir brightens lives with uninterrupted supply

Rajouri, Aug 29 (ANI): A new power station set up in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir brightened up people’s lives with uninterrupted power supply. Junior Engineer, Javed Iqbal, said the power station aims at providing uninterrupted power supply. A resident, Ratan Lal, added lack of electricity impacted the industry work earlier. However, the plant, which was set up in June this year, is benefiting the people immensely. No line men from city ever visited the area to fix the electricity poles. People are now getting an opportunity to start their own work, which has generated employment opportunities for many. BSE closes points 5.79 up on August 26

New Delhi, August 26 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 5.79 points up to stand at 26,442.81. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 1.55 points down to stand at 7,904.75. HAVELLS and BAJAJ FINSERV LTD were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 9.40% and 5.08% along with PIDILITE INDUSTRIES LTD and GLAXOSMITHKLINE CONSUMER HEALTHCARE LTD. with an increase of 4.90% and 4.08% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include RPOWER and ADANIPOWER with a decrease of 6.79% and 6.44% along with JINDALSTEL and JPPOWER with a decrease of 6.16% and 5.41% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 4.69 points at 17,110.96 while the banking sector is down 42.62 points at 17,895.77 and the reality sector is down 0.82 points at 1,785.03.
