Uttar Pradesh/ Manipur, Aug 24 (ANI): Flood fury has wrecked havoc in Uttar Pradesh and has rendered several homeless. The houses located on the banks on river Ganga are submerged due to the rise in its water level in Kanpur city. In Faizabad district also, floods have disrupted normal life of people and left many without any shelter. A Village Revenue Officer, Ramnihal Prajapati, said the government is helping people by providing them with essential commodities for their livelihood. Assam and neighbouring Nagaland are locked in a territorial dispute, claiming tracts of land along the state limits since the creation of Nagaland more than four decades ago. The latest wave of violence has left at least 20 dead and forced thousands to flee their homes. Vehicles were plying on road and shops were opened as the local authorities have lifted curfew in the district.
