Evacuations of Aleppo continues after buses burned

Nearly 500 people were evacuated from eastern Aleppo late at night on Sunday (18 December), after three days of delays stopped the process. The evacuations grounded to a halt on Friday (16 December) after pro-government forces demanded that people also be moved out of two Shi’ite villages besieged by insurgents. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and Syrian state TV two buses evacuating villagers have been torched.The buses were sent to transport people from two villages besieged by rebels into government territory.This evacuation was part of a deal between the Syrian government and rebels allowing people to be transported out of East Aleppo in return.The attacking insurgents are believed to be Islamist fighters of Ahrar al-Sham and al-Nusra Front. According to Syrian state television the evacuation of East Aleppo has restarted.A video shows evacuation busses entering Ramousah, the last rebel-held territory in Aleppo.The evacuation of civilians and rebels was secured in a deal between rebels and the Syrian government.In return residents from two villages besieged by rebel forces will also be evacuated.
