A Holocaust survivors plea to the people of Austria has gone viral ahead of the countrys presidential election. Gertrude, known only by her first name, has appealed to Austrians not to allow the far-right Freedom Party to gain power. In the video published on Facebook she says that the actions of the Freedom Party and its candidate Norbert Hofer are similar to that of the Nazis in Austria and Germany in the 1930s. It’s the humiliation of others, the demonisation of others, that alarms me the most. And that was the case once before, she said. CCTV shows woman left paralysed after car drives onto pavement

CCTV footage has been released showing the moment a woman was left paralysed after a car drove onto the pavement. The video, released by the Metropolitan Police, captures the incident which happened on the 29 May in Norwood, London.The woman who was paralysed was 30-year-old Chanelle Higgins. According to to the police appeal, Higgins was paralysed from the waist down and is confined to a wheelchair.The police said that on 16 June a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. A plane with 81 people on board, including members of the Brazilian first division football team Chapecoense, has crashed in the city of Medellin in Colombia. A video published on Facebook shows the Chapecoense players checking in before the flight at the international airport in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.
