And this ethos comes to the forefront, especially during the festive season. Diwali, the festival of lights, is celebrated by people in Coimbatore in India's southern state of Tamil Nadu, in a spirit of harmony. Here, a mosque opens its door to people from different faiths to celebrate the festival together. Students from different communities participated actively in the festival. During the celebration a community meal was also organised to strengthen the spirit of sharing and being together. Respect and tolerance for different ways of life – which include festivals, traditions, and faiths - is the essence of communal harmony, which prevails in the country. Tamil Nadu, Nov 6 (ANI): Protesters in Tamil Nadu demanded India not to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Colombo and urged the United Nations to intervene in the matter. According to media reports, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is yet to decide as to whether he would participate in the Commonwealth summit or not, which will be held in Colombo from November 15 to November 17. She can do all the difficult moves including the agonising 'peacock' where the body is held in a horizontal position by the strength of the arms alone. The grand old woman can also pull off a tricky raised 'lotus', 'bridge' and a headstand with ease.
