Ahead of D-day, BJP CM candidate Kiran Bedi travels on Delhi Metro

New Delhi, Feb 06 (ANI): BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi on Friday travelled on the Delhi Metro from Patel Chowk to Nirman Vihar. Bedi was seen travelling in the general compartment along with her supposters. Bedi said that one step for the development of Delhi is not enough and that several steps would be required. She added that if she comes to power, then she will survey the Metro unannounced. She further said that crime on the move needs to be monitored. A total of 673 candidates are in the fray for the 70-member Delhi Assembly. Delhi goes to polls on February 7, while the results will be declared on February 10. Feb 6, 2015

Delhi Metro services to be partially curtailed on Republic Day

New Delhi, Jan 24 (ANI): The services of Delhi Metro will be partially curtailed on Jan 26 as part of the security arrangements for the Republic Day celebrations as per the instructions of Delhi Police. Metro schedules of Line - 2 (HUDA City Centre - Jahangirpuri), Line - 3 (Noida City Centre - Dwarka Sector 21), Line -4 (Yamuna Bank to Vaishali) and Line 6 (Mandi House - Badarpur) have been partially modified for January 26. Entry and Exit at Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan Metro stations will remain closed from 06:00 am up to12:00 Noon while Patel Chowk and Race Course Metro stations entry and exit will remain closed from 08:45 am to 12:00 Noon. Both Mandi House and Pragati Maidan Metro stations will be closed for public from 10:45 am up to 11:45 am. Jan 24, 2015

Delhi witnesses full dress rehearsal of Republic Day parade

New Delhi, Jan 23 (ANI): A full dress rehearsal of this year's Republic Day Parade took place on Friday, and Delhi Police announced a change in traffic movement to facilitate the exercise. The parade started at 9:50 AM from Vijay Chowk and proceeded to the Red Fort ground via Rajpath, India Gate, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and Netaji Subhash Marg. The helicopters were seen up the sky carrying national flags that gave a much boost to the patriotic sentiments of the people present. A well coordinated parade by the Army too was a sight to behold. Meanwhile, Delhi Traffic Police had stalled the traffic on the parade route from 5:00 AM till 12:30 PM. This year's parade will have US President Barack Obama as the chief guest, and in anticipation of his three-day second visit to India in four years, security has been tightened across the country. Srinagar: 7 civilians and 1 CRPF jawan injured in Grenade blast at Lal Chowk

Srinagar, Nov 29 (ANI): Seven civilians and one CRPF jawan was injured after terrorists hurled grenade at a CRPF bunker at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Saturday.
