Politicos react as PM Narendra Modi comes second in list of 30 top-performing world leaders

New Delhi, Dec 19 (ANI): Politicos on Friday react as Prime Minister Narendra Modi was placed No 2, behind Chinese President Xi Jinping, in a list of 30 top-performing world leaders by a Japanese market research firm. The survey of more than 26,000 respondents, conducted this fall by Tokyo-based GMO Research rated Xi, Modi, and Merkel the top-performing world leaders, with scores of 7.5, 7.3, and 7.2 respectively on a scale of one to 10. While BJPandShiv Sena welcomed the same and said that it was natural that the world is recognizing Modi as world leader, Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that it is for Indian citizens to decide on performance of Modi. German envoy hopes for decision in interest of students in language row

New Delhi, Nov 17 (ANI): German envoy to India, Michael Steiner, hoped for a decision in the interest of students as the Chancellor, Angela Merkel, raised the language row issue in schools with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in Brisbane. The Human Resource Development ministry decided to drop the German language in favour of Sanskrit for over 70,000 students across 500 Kendriya Vidyalayas from classes VI to VIII. PM Modi meets German Chancellor Angela Merkel

Brisbane, Nov 16 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday met German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Brisbane. Merkel has stated that she looked forward to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to her nation, adding that the bilateral relations between New Delhi and Berlin were deepening, on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit meeting. On Saturday, Prime Minister Modi had a packed schedule besides, having a meeting with leaders from the BRICS, he had a one-on-one meeting with leaders from France, Canada and Saudi Arabia on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit. After attending the Summit in Brisbane, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to travel to Sydney, where he will attend a community reception and address the Indian Diaspora. Prime Minister Modi will then travel to Canberra and address the special joint sitting of the Australian Parliament on November 18.
