Kashmir evacuees reunite with their families back home

Faizabad/ Bhopal/ New Delhi, Sep 14 (ANI): A number of evacuees returned safely back home and reunite with their families and loved ones while Sikh temples in Delhi send packed food items prepared in the community kitchen to victims of flood-ravaged Kashmir. The pilgrims who returned gave credit to the Indian army and Modi government for their safe rescue. The pilgrims were then airlifted from helipad at Governor's house to the airport in helicopters, from where they were flown to their destinations. The rescue operations continue on war-footing to pull out the victims and provide relief materials to those still stranded in the floods. Sep 14, 2014

Srinagar, Sep 11 (ANI): Relief operations gathered steam as flood waters have started receding in Kashmir, giving rescue teams a chance to reach tens of thousands of villagers stranded by the heaviest rainfall in half a century. Indian Air Force has been carrying out extensive winching operation and now is also engaged in air dropping of food items. Meanwhile, a PDP leader said the magnitude of destruction and devastation is unprecedented. The Indian army has evacuated 76,000 people from their homes, mosques and government buildings. The variety of soaps under the brand name of Ma-ngal are being produced with the extracts of locally available fruits like Lemon, Xylosma, Aloe-Vera, Citrus latipes and Cucumber. Jina's soap brand is a symbol of women empowerment and enlightenment. Jina also has the expertise in recycling waste materials into productive and income generating items apart from making soaps. She wishes to open up a show room for her products and a training centre. Jina's soap making farm has been a source of earning for some other destitute poor women, like widows and those living with HIV/AIDS. They come to her house and together make soaps, and handicraft.
