Pak observes 'mourning day' as families of deceased MQM workers perform last rites

Karachi, May 03 (ANI): Pakistan's biggest city Karachi came to a standstill on Friday after Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) called for a day of mourning after four bodies were recovered from the city three days earlier were identified as those of its activists. MQM said all four workers were picked up on April 13 by the law-enforcement personnel from Gulshan-e-Maymar area in the city. The paramilitary Rangers and police, who are currently conducting a joint operation in Karachi against the criminals, deny the allegations. Meanwhile, more than two thousand party activists, supporters and relatives of the victims offered funeral prayers for two of the slain workers of MQM. The other two were buried on Thursday night. The MQM which represents Urdu speakers, is the second largest party in Sindh and dominates the country's financial capital Karachi. May 3, 2014

Chennai/Bangalore, May 03 (ANI): Police released the video footage of a suspect in the twin bomb blast on the Bangalore-Guwahati train in Chennai that killed a woman and left many injured. Explosive devices concealed under seats went off in two coaches shortly after the train stopped at Chennai central station at about 7:00 AM. Inspector General of Crime Investigation Department of India, Mahesh Kumar Agarwal, addressed a news conference and said there were similarities between the twin blasts in Chennai and the serial blasts in Patna city which targeted Modi's rally. Zia said that she would take to streets along with the people to ensure their security. Karachi, May 02 (ANI): Pakistani political party Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) called for a day of mourning and protest on Friday after bodies of four party workers were recovered from Memon Goth in Karachi. MQM said that all four workers were picked up on April 13 by Police and Rangers from Gulshan-e-Maymar area on the outskirts of the city. The party announced that it would stage peaceful protests against what it calls "extra judicial killings and kidnappings" of its activists. MQM leaders have alleged that personnel of the law-enforcement agencies in plain clothes pick up their workers and subject them to torture, and in some cases, they kill their workers and dump their bodies on the outskirts of the city. Suspected SIMI operative arrested from Bhopal

Bhopal, April 28 (ANI): Anti-terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested suspected Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activist Gulrez Mustafa from Bhopal railway station. Action against Mustafa, a resident of Choti Gwaltoli locality of Indore, who was on ATS radar for long, came on the basis intelligence inputs. Gulrez is believed to have helped terror suspect Abu Faisal alias doctor to escape to Mahidpur via Indore after escaping from Khandwa jail on October 1, 2013. In December last year, ATS had nabbed Faisal and two accomplices on December 24, 2013.
