New Delhi, Jan 18 (ANI): Congress leader Ajay Maken said on Sunday that Congress party demands an apology from AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal over his controversial statement that voters can take money from any party but vote only for AAP. Maken said that Congress will even file a complaint with the Election Commission as Kejriwal has violated the Model Code of Conduct for instigating the voters. BJP files defamation case against Kejriwal over allegations against Upadhyay

New Delhi, Jan 15 (ANI): BJP delegation on Thursday visited Election Commission office to file defamation case against AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal over the allegations against Delhi BJP Chief Satish Upadhyay. Lawyer in the case said that the dates for Delhi polls have been announced and that model code of conduct does not allow any political leader to indict allegations on personal affairs of his rival. The EC assured of looking in the matter and acting thereafter. Naqvi taken into custody for breaching prohibitory orders during 2009 LS polls, gets bail

Rampur, Jan 14 (ANI): Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was taken into judicial custody in Rampur on Wednesday for alleged poll code violation. Naqvi's arrest took place after a local court in Rampur sentenced him to one year in jail for violating the Model Code of Conduct during the 2009 general elections. However, Naqvi was later released on bail. An FIR had been registered against Naqvi and his supporters during the 2009 Lok Sabha elections in Rampur. Naqvi had allegedly breached the prohibitory orders in force and barged into a police station along with his party workers at Patwai area of Rampur parliamentary constituency while campaigning for the 2009 Lok Sabha polls.
