This week in the celebrity spotlight: The Academy Award nominations reveals snubs and surprises and The Golden Globe Awards bring out the glitz & glamour of Hollywood. Welcome to the Getty Images Week in Review. Here’s what’s been happening with your favorite celebs this week. The 72nd annual Golden Globe Awards brought out stars from the big and small screen where they flaunted fashions from some of the world’s top designers. Let’s take a look. Fashion Montage Popular hosts Tina Fey & Amy Poehler returned for the third and perhaps final time as MC’s of the show which is presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. It was art house darlings that lead the way at the 87th Academy Awards nominations. ‘Birdman’ and ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ picked up nine nominations each including Best Picture and Best Director. While Michael Keaton received his first nod as Best Actor for ‘Birdman’, Meryl Streep picked up her 19th nomination for ‘Into The Woods’. J.K. Simmons, who just won the Golden Globe for ‘Whiplash’ is the front-runner in the Best Supporting Actor category but he’ll have stiff competition from fellow nominees Robert Duvall, Ethan Hawke, Edward Norton & Mark Ruffalo. Bradley Cooper nabbed a Best Actor nod, nudging out “Selma’s” David Oyelowo and “Nightcrawler’s” Jake Gyllenhaal. A notable snub for Best Actress was Jennifer Aniston for her much praised performance in ‘Cake’. However the category will be well represented with nods to Felicity Jones, Rosamund Pike, Reese Witherspoon & Julianne Moore. Hosted this year by Neil Patrick Harris, the award show will broadcast live on February 22nd. LONDON Fans braved the weather for the U.K. premiere of ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’. Star Colin Firth led the way down the red carpet along with fellow cast members Mark Strong, Taron Egerton and Sofia Boutella. On the eve of the Oscar nominations, the Razzies announced their nods for the worst of 2014. ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ leads the pack with seven nominations followed closely by ‘The Legend of Hercules’ with six nods including one for star Kellan Lutz.
