Bombs hurled at BJP rally in West Bengal

Howrah, Nov 24 (ANI): Bombs were hurled at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rally in Bandhaghat area of West Bengal's Howrah city. Two BJP workers who were reportedly injured by the bomb have been taken to the hospital. According to the media reports, the crude bomb was hurled during a clash between BJP and Trinamool Congress supporters. BJP's Howrah Unit Convener Sanjay Singh said that TMC workers were shouting slogans and disrupting the meeting that was being held in Bandhaghat. JD (U) General Secretary KC Tyagi also discussed various issues which the party is looking forward to discuss at the winter session. Congress’ Mallikarjun Kharge said that party wants that bills that are still pending need to be kept on the table again including women reservation bill. Meanwhile, Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu said that government is more than willing to work on the suggestions of the opposition parties. Showing confidence on smooth functioning of the Parliament session, Naidu said that all parties should cooperate including Mamata Banerjee’s TMC. Dharamsala, Nov 22 (ANI): Differently-abled cricketers showcased their talent on the cricket grounds of Dharamsala at the maiden Asian T-20 Cricket Cup for Deaf and Dumb. The tournament has been organized by the Delhi Deaf and Dumb Cricket Society. Teams from Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and India are set to battle it out on the fields of the International Dharamsala Cricket Stadium. The tournament which started on November 20 will go on till November 23. Spokesperson of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA), Sanjay Sharma, said that the organization aimed to make the game available to all sections of society. Government carries out search and rescue training in Nainital

Nainital, Nov 21 (ANI): The disaster management department in Uttarakhand trained firemen for search and rescue operations recently. The state witnessed one of the worst disasters last year. The training is being provided by the disaster management department of Uttarakhand state government. The instructor, Sunil Vaidh, said the firemen were being trained in carrying out search and rescue operations in the case of any untoward incident. Vaidh added about 2000 government officials have been trained till now and further such training programmes would carry on. A trainee fireman, Bhairav Dutt, was happy to learn the techniques.
