Ramzan Kadyrov maintains Chechen presidency with 98% of vote

Russias Republic of Chechnya voted overwhelmingly in favour of regional president Ramzan Kadyrov. The Chechen leader won 98 percent of the vote in elections that did not meet international standards. Russian opposition claims election was not free and fair

Former prime minister and Russian opposition leader of the Parnas party, Mikhail Kasyanov, has claimed that the vote in the parliamentary elections was not a free and fair vote. Russias liberal opposition failed to get over the five percent threshold needed for party representation, the exit poll and preliminary results showed.
