Bengaluru, Feb 19 (ANI): Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy on Thursday flew first BrahMos-integrated Sukhoi-30 MKI in Bengaluru city of Kolkata. Rudy said that this is the finest aircrafts that is there with Indian Airforce and that it reflects total strength of the Airforce. Chinese community in Kolkata gears up to celebrate New Year

Kolkata, Feb 18 (ANI): Chinese community in Kolkata is gearing up to celebrate Chinese New Year. This year the Lunar New Year falls on Thursday (February 19) and ends on March 5. In the Chinese calendar, each year is represented by one of twelve animals from the Chinese zodiac. However, this year, there has been confusion around the zodiac. Some are calling it a year of Sheep, while some say it to be a year of Goat. Both are appearing in Chinese decorative material being prepared for New Year. The festival's many customs, observed by millions of Chinese communities around the globe, link back to the idea of inviting good fortune and prosperity, and chasing away bad luck. People of Chinese community residing in Kolkata gathered on streets to watch the celebrations and the famous lion dance, a traditional dance in Chinese culture. Calcutta HC grants bail to Rajat Majumdar in Saradha scam

Kolkata, Feb 16 (ANI): The Calcutta High Court on Monday granted bail to Trinamool Congress (TMC) vice-president Rajat Majumdar in connection with the Saradha chit-fund scam case. Majumdar, a former Director General of Police, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in September 2014 for his alleged involvement in the scam. Agra/ Kolkata/ Gurgaon, Feb 15 (ANI): Despite reports of Hindu right wing organisations harassing couples in public places, Valentine's Day was celebrated across India. In a first, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav inaugurated a 'Lover's Seat' with the picturesque epitome of love, Taj Mahal in the background in Agra city. Yadav also posed for photographs at the 'Lover's Seat' with his wife Dimple. He said that for the state Valentine's Day was actually 'Taj Day'. Another attraction at the event was a black Taj Mahal replica made of sand by artist Sudarshan Patnaik. Meanwhile, in Kolkata city of West Bengal, All India Students' Association (AISA) held a protest against the Hindu nationalist organisation Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for spreading communalism and impinging on people's freedom to choose partners.
