The pioneer of the Chipko movement has also been awarded with the Ramon Magsaysay Award for community leadership in 1982 followed by the Padma Bhushan in 2005. The Gandhi Peace Prize was instituted in 1995 on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Amritsar, July 09 (ANI): India's paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) personnel seized heroin worth millions along with fake Indian currency notes near Pakistan border in northern state of Punjab. BSF personnel claimed on Wednesday to have seized four kilogrammes of heroin in the consignment which was confiscated in Amritsar on Tuesday. DIG of BSF, MF Farooqui, said the personnel challenged the intruder after noticing some suspicious movement on the other side of barbed fencing on India-Pakistan border.
