Patna, Sep 26 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday hailed the Raghuram Rajan panel report that has ranked Bihar among India's least advanced states. Kumar said that the report will pave the way for getting more funds from the Centre for development in his state. He was speaking after release of a report of a panel headed by then Chief Economic Advisor Raghuram Rajan, now RBI Governor. The report has made a case for ending the "special category" criteria for providing additional assistance to poorer states and has suggested a new matrix to decide on which states should get the most financial assistance from the Centre. Congress dares VK Singh to name J &K ministers who were paid money

Srinagar, Sept 24 (ANI): Congress leader and Jammmu and Kashmir Sports minister Taj Mohiuddin on Tuesday dared former Army chief General VK Singh to name the ministers who were given funds. Speaking to mediapersons in Srinagar, Mohiuddin termed the matter as unfortunate and said that investigation should be done. He also said that Singh is either diluting the reports or has some motivation to malign the name of some ministers. Earlier, VK Singh admitted that the money from the secret fund was used in Kashmir but only towards social schemes. Singh said that the money that had been given was a part of the 'Sadbhavna' that is carried out by the Army. No plans for selective stimulus package: Finance ministry

New Delhi, Sept 24 (ANI): Senior finance ministry official, Arvind Mayaram said on Monday that India has no plan to offer a special window to lend funds at lower interest rates to companies in some sectors.The finance ministry and the central bank were considering a selective stimulus plan that involved a debt-buying programme for eligible companies. Mayaram said that the banks in India have not yet developed the capability of appraising projects for a long duration.
