First modern sports stadium under construction in Jorhat

Jorhat, March 29 (ANI): One of the oldest sports fields of Assam, which is run by Jorhat District Sport Association, will be soon transformed into an international standard stadium. The sports complex is being constructed at a cost of over 6 crore. While the gallery is being sponsored by the Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resource (NLCPR) under the DoNER Ministry, the United Fund of Jorhat District Administration is funding the construction of the grounds and other facilities. The stadium will have a sitting capacity of 25,000 people. The project began in 2008-2009 and is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The work is progressing rapidly, and 90 per cent of the stadium has been completed. Mar 29, 2014
