Moily says yet to get PM's comments over raising cap on cooking gas

Greater Noida, Jan 13 (ANI): Oil Minister, M. Veerappa Moily, said that he is yet to receive comments from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh or Congress Vice President, Rahul Gandhi, over increasing quota of subsidized cooking gas (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) cylinders from nine to 12 per household in a year. Moily said that increasing the cap to 12 cylinders would result in an additional fuel subsidy burden but the final decision over the issue would be taken by the Cabinet Committee.

New Delhi, Dec 21 (ANI): Senior Congress leader Jayanthi Natarajan on Saturday resigned as Minister of State for Environment and Forests. Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister, Veerappa Moily has been given additional charge of Environment Ministry. According to sources, general secretaries in the Congress, who wish to contest Lok Sabha elections could be replaced by Central Ministers who will be drafted for party work, provided they belong to the Rajya Sabha.
