Assam: Two school girls found hanging from a tree in Karimganj

Karimganj, Sep 06 (ANI): In another shameful crime against women, two school girls were found dead in Karimganj district in Assam. Two Assam school girls, who had been missing from their homes since Wednesday, were found hanging from a tree on Thursday in the state's Karimganj district, close to the Bangladesh border. The police suspect that the girls were raped and then murdered. According to the police, the bodies have been recovered and sent for a post-mortem. Only after the post-mortem and forensic reports, will the police be able determine the cause of death and if the girls had been molested. The girls were studying in class eighth and ninth and had gone missing from their schools since Wednesday. Sep 6, 2014

Joan Rivers, the sharp tongue comedian who made America laugh with her in-your- face humor for over 50 years has died at the age of 81. The comedy icon had been in intensive care for a week after going into respiratory and cardiac arrest during throat surgery at a New York clinic. The current queens of comedy took to Twitter to express their feelings. Ellen DeGeneres wrote: ‘Joan Rivers will always be a pioneer. She paved the way for a lot of comedians. I’m very sad she’s gone’. “Girls” star Lena Dunham added: ‘Watching Joan Rivers do standup at age 81 was incredible: athletic, jaw- dropping, terrifying, essential. It never stopped. Neither will she’. Long time friend Kathy Griffin could only write: ‘A legend, a friend, a mentor, an icon, and wildly funny. One of a kind. RIP’. Her daughter, Melissa Rivers said in a statement. “My mother’s greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. New Delhi, Sept 2 (ANI): Love jihad as an idea is gaining more and more credence in Uttar Pradesh. A community in Uttar Pradesh has imposed a ban on the use of mobile phones by school girls in order to save them from falling prey to 'love jihad'. The diktat has been issued by an influential committee of vaishyas, called the Akhil Bharitiya Vaishya Ekta Parishad (ABVEP).
