India Blackout: Northern, Eastern Power Grids Partially Restored; Train Services Delayed

For the second consecutive day life has come to standstill in half of India after power grid failure hit North and East India in one if the worst blackouts since 2001. On Monday, the Northern Grid which collapsed and was restored after about 15 hours of blackouts, tripped again on Tuesday. Teenage Girl Molested, Thrown Out of Running Train in Karnataka

In an another horrifying case, a teenage girl from Bangalore was sexually harassed by a group of youths and was thrown out of running train near Maddur, Karnataka on Tuesday afternoon. The girl, however, survived but suffered severe injuries. The 19-year-old, an orphan, is an employee of a garment factory in Bangalore. The girl was on leave and was going to her home in Vidyaranyapuram, Mysore, where she stays with her grandmother. Jul 25, 2012
