SP government orders CBI probe in Mohanlalganj rape case

Lucknow, July 29 (ANI): The state government-led by Samajwadi Party (SP) in Uttar Pradesh agreed to demands of the family of the Mohanlalganj rape and murder victim and ordered a CBI probe in the same. Family of the woman began a fast unto death protest on Sunday demanding a CBI probe into the incident citing dissatisfaction with police report. The police had said that there were no traces of rape before murder and only one person was involved in the crime. SP leader Naresh Agarwal said they had written to CBI to conduct an inquiry. However, family of the victim, who said they will not end the hunger strike till all their demands were met, said that no government official has visited them to inform them about the development in the case. Auto rickshaws go on a day long strike against Delhi Police

New Delhi, July 28 (ANI): A large number of auto rickshaws in New Delhi are observing a day long strike against the Delhi Police on Monday. The drivers alleged highhandedness of policemen and said that they are troubled as police officials ask for bribe, threatening the drivers to impose heavy fines unnecessarily. Vice President of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Rajendra Soni, said that the drivers are highly troubled by such bullying attitude of police. Mohanlalganj Rape Case: Victim's family sits on hunger strike demanding CBI probe

Lucknow, July 27 (ANI): The family members of the victim in the Mohanlalganj rape case sat on hunger strike on Sunday demanding CBI probe from the government. They said that the family now doesn't trust the police department and will continue the strike until a CBI probe is conducted. Earlier, in a new twist in the rape and murder case of the 32-year-old woman, forensic report has indicated that more than one person was involved in the crime. The report is contradictory to the police claims where it had ruled out gangrape with the woman. Ruling out gangrape, the police had earlier said that there was no sexual intercourse. The incident had come to light on July 17 when the body of the woman was spotted near a primary school in Balsingh Khera village of Mohanlalganj tehsil by a watchman. Jul 27, 2014
