Police arrests Maoist in Jharkhand

Simdega, March 25 (ANI): Acting on a tip-off, police arrested a Maoist, identified as Sanju Pradhan in Simdega district of Jharkhand. Police recovered four mobile phones from him. Superintendent of Police (SP) Aseem Vikrant said that the arrested Maoist was on task of recce for observing troop movement in the region. The hotbeds of Maoists in the state are under tight security blanket, as India, will hold its general election in nine stages staggered between April 7 and May 12. Centre forms committee to look into Bodoland demand

Bodoland, Mar 17 (ANI): Former home secretary G K Pillai has been appointed by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to study and examine the demand for a separate state of Bodoland. GK Pillai will soon visit Kokrajhar to consult all sections of the society on the viability of Bodoland. The committee will submit its report to the Ministry within 9 months. A 12 member Bodo delegation, comprising representatives from the ABSU, People’s Joint Action Committee for Bodoland Movement, United Democratic People’s Front and the Bodoland People’s Progressive front, was in New Delhi recently. Kuala Lumpur, Mar 15 (ANI): Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said Saturday that no conclusive evidence shows missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 is hijacked. He added there is a high degree of certainty that the communication device aboard the plane was disabled and its movement showed deliberate action. But the Boeing 777-200 aircraft did turn back from its last known location on civilian radar, and the signal the Malaysian military radar picked up at the north of the Strait of Malacca was from the missing plane, he added.
