Saradha Scam: Court extends CBI custody of Sandhir Agarwal

Kolkata, Aug 27 (ANI): The High Court in Kolkata has extended the CBI custody of city-based businessman Sandhir Aggarwal who was arrested for his alleged role in the Saradha chit fund scam. His lawyer said that they tried to get him out on bail but the Court extended his CBI custody till September 1. Agarwal is suspected to have acted as a middleman with SEBI and other regulatory bodies for Saradha Group Chief Sudipto Sen and shielded him from action, according to CBI sources. Aug 27, 2014

BSF initiates plantation drive promoting environmental awareness

North Dinajpur, Aug 20 (ANI): The soldiers of Border Security force (BSF) initiated a plantation drive by sowing saplings across Indo-Bangladesh border in order to promote environmental conversation as a part of ___Green Mission___. The troopers also exchanged plants with the Border Guards of Bangladesh (BGB) along the India-Bangladesh border as an effort to boost relationship within the two countries. CBI raid OCA Secretary Ashirbad Behera's house in Odisha chit fund scam case

Bhubaneswar, Aug 17 (ANI): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday raided Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) secretary Ashirbad Behera’s house in Bhubaneswar city in connection with the chit fund scam. The CBI investigated Behera, among others, for having links with Pradeep Sethy, the chairman-cum-managing director of a chit fund company, Artha Tatwa. The company, according to the CBI, is among the 44 firms in the state which are running fraudulent chit schemes and are tricking the investors. Sethy, reportedly, has been arrested, and the value of the seized properties of the AT Group is said to have been around rupees 400 crores. Aug 17, 2014
