New Delhi, Sep 16 (ANI): As counting for three Lok Sabha seats and 33 Assembly constituencies in underway, early trends show that BJP is struggling in key states of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan and even Gujarat. While, SP is leading in UP, Congress candidates are leading in three of the four Rajasthan Assembly constituencies where by-polls were held. Vadodara/Kolkata/ Lucknow, Sept 16 (ANI): Counting of votes in three Lok Sabha and 33 assembly constituencies spread across 9 states for bypolls, which were held on September 13, began on Tuesday morning. The three Lok Sabha seats are in Vadodara vacated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mainpuri (Uttar Pradesh) and Medak (Telangana) while 11 assembly constituencies are in UP, nine in Gujarat, four in Rajasthan, two in West Bengal, five in Northeastern states and one each in Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh. Lucknow/ Moradabad/ Kolkatta/ Vadodra, Sept 13 (ANI): Polling for three Lok Sabha and 33 Assembly seats is currently underway across 10 states with the results crucial for both the ruling BJP-led NDA government as well as the opposition parties who are yet to recover from the massive defeat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Voters began to queue up on Saturday at polling stations for the by-poll in Uttar Pradesh's one Lok Sabha and 11 assembly constituencies. Samajwadi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are the main contenders in most of the assembly seats and the lone Lok Sabha seat.Voting is also underway for the Chowringhee and Basirhat (South) assembly constituencies in West Bengal.Voting for the Antagarh assembly constituency in Chhattisgarh also began today.Polling for Gujarat's one Lok Sabha and nine assembly by-polls is underway too.The Vadodara Lok Sabha seat was vacated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he was elected to the parliament from two places, including Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.Voters queue up in Telangana too for polling. UP court rejects chargesheet filed against Amit Shah

Muzaffarnagar, Sep 11 (ANI): A local court in Muzaffarnagar on Thursday refused to take cognizance of the chargesheet filed against BJP President Amit Shah for the alleged hate speech made by him. While returning the chargesheet to the police to amend the errors, the court said that the police cannot file a chargesheet under IPC Section 188. The court further explained that the complaint should be filed as a private complaint by the concerned officer who had imposed prohibitory orders which were violated. Shah was booked by the UP Police for delivering hate speeches in UP during the election campaigns of the recent Lok Sabha elections. While addressing a rally in Muzaffarnagar, Shah was reported saying that it is the time to seek revenge by casting votes for BJP. Sep 11, 2014

Kolkata, Sep 11 (ANI): BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh on Thursday questioned West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over her alleged relationship with Bangladesh's fundamentalist group Jamaat-e-Islami and Islamic fundamentalist Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). Singh said that a newspaper in Bangladesh has said that the money extracted by the Saradha chit fund scam went to the Jamaat-e-Islami and that the organization helped back the TMC with the Lok Sabha polls. Singh said that if Banerjee was innocent, she should have opposed and filed a defamation case against the newspaper in question and Bangladesh government. Sep 11, 2014

Amit Shah chargesheeted for alleged hate speech in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar/Lucknow, Sep 10 (ANI): BJP President Amit Shah has been booked by the Muzaffarnagar Police on Wednesday for his hate speech during the campaigning of the recent Lok Sabha elections. FIRs had been lodged in Bijnor and Shamli, where Shah had reportedly said that it was the time to seek revenge by casting vote for BJP. The two separate FIRs were lodged against the BJP Chief under section 153A of IPC and section 125 of Representation of People's act. BJP leader Vijay Bahadur Pathak said that BJP will reply to the chargesheet according to the law.
