Infosys names former SAP executive Vishal Sikka as CEO

New Delhi, June 12 (ANI): Infosys Ltd on Thursday named former SAP AG executive board member Vishal Sikka as its CEO. With his appointment, Sikka becomes the first non-founder CEO of Infosys, which is India's second-largest IT services exporter. The company also informed that Executive Chairman NR Narayana Murthy would step down on Saturday, nearly a year after he was brought in from retirement to help the company better compete with rivals including Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro. Sikka will take over from current Chief Executive SD Shibulal, one of the engineers who founded Infosys, from August 1. Jun 12, 2014

TPDDL in Delhi claims to meet cent percent electricity demand

New Delhi, June 11 (ANI): Power distribution company in Delhi, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) has claimed to have met 100 percent electricity demands in its jurisdiction despite reports of prolonged power cuts in the city during scorching summer heat. TPDDL, which supplies power to nearly 30 percent of residents in north and northeast Delhi, said there was no load shedding. Earlier on Tuesday, Junior Power Minister Piyush Goyal blamed previous Congress party-led government in the city and said that dilapidated power grids could not cope with extra electricity needed to meet demand, leading to more power cuts. New Delhi, June 6 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 376.95 points up to stand at 25,396.46. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 109.30 points up to stand at 7,583.40. TATA GLOBAL and Sobha Developers Ltd. were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 11.23% and 10.68% along with ONGC and Strides Arcolab Ltd. with an increase of 10.57% and 9.54% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include Muthoot Finance Ltd. and Jain Irrigation with a decrease of 2.74% and 2.71 % along with SSLT and Hindustan Copper Ltd. with a decrease of 2.53% and 1.83% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 228.09 points at 15,184.52 while the banking sector is up 287.95 points at 17,788.59 and the realty sector is up 101.67 points at 2,128.03.
