5 Summer Indoor plant care tips

5 Summer Indoor plant care tips Most houseplants will thrive in a well-lit, draught-free spot with an even temperature and reasonably high humidity. However there are some basic tips to take care of them when the temperatures are high. We will see a few: Be sure that your plants get light A plant in proper light is better able to withstand the high temperature and low humidity of many homes. Identify how much natural light is available (and needed) for plants and place them accordingly. Watering Water the plants early in the morning and not late at night. Only use room temperature water. Do not use cold water. Too much or too little of water causes the plant roots to die, which leads to poor growth or death of the plant Avoid water stagnation Most houseplants are killed by over watering. So they should always have good drainage. Occasionally, the drainage hole may become clogged by roots. Check it by pushing a finger, stick or pencil into it. Fertilizing Add to your plant good natural fertilizers to help in its growth. Fertilizing once a month is adequate for most houseplants that are producing new growth or flowers. Never exceed amounts suggested by the manufacturer’s directions. Trimming Trim your indoor plant from time to time, to get rid of dead leaves, keep them healthy Jun 20, 2014
