Land Acquisition Row: Reactions flow as Shiv Sena, Akali Dal oppose Bill

New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): In the recent developments in the Land Acquisition Bill row, NDA partners Shiv Sena and Shiromani Akali Dal have decided to oppose the bill drawing political reactions. Shis Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that the concerns and interests of the farmers need to be considered by the political parties before passing any such bill. NCP leader Tariq Anwar said that any party which works for the benefit of the farmers will consider their needs. JD (U) leader KC Tyagi said that any party which thinks about the farmers' well-being will not let the bill get passed. Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Aggarwal assured that the Opposition leaders will not let the bill pass as it is not in favour of the farmers. Feb 25, 2015

VHP rejects Hashim Ansari's proposal to resolve Ayodhya dispute, Politicos react

New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): The Vishwa Hindu Parishad rejected the proposal of Hashim Ansari to resolve the long pending Ayodhya dispute drawing political reactions on Wednesday. Ansari had proposed to create a temple as well as a mosque at the land of demolished Babri mosque. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that VHP cannot decide upon that issue without discussing it with Shiv Sena. NCP leader Tariq Anwar said that the Court should give a verdict in the case soon. Shiv Sena boycotts NDA meeting, asks govt to rework on land acquisition bill

New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): After the opposition parties led by congress walked out of the Parliament in protest of government’s land acquisition bill, BJP ally Shiv Sena skipped a meeting of NDA government over the issue. Both Shiv Sena and the Akali Dal have termed the Government's controversial land bill “anti-farmer and against the interests of poor”. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that the party has always worked in the interest of the farmers and will ask the BJP to review certain points in the bill. Meanwhile, central government hinted at diluting some of the provisions of the new land acquisition ordinance after meeting with its allies and amid growing protest on Tuesday. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu, who presided the meeting, assured the government would consult all the stakeholders before taking final decision. Feb 25, 2015
