Goa CM Manohar Parrikar tenders his resignation

New Delhi, Nov 08 (ANI): Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has tendered his resignation to take up the post of Union defence minister on Sunday. Parrikar faxed his resignation to Goa governor Mridula Sinha. Sinha is out of station and is likely to arrive in the state in the afternoon in time for the swearing-in ceremony of the new chief minister scheduled at 4:00 PM. The BJP legislative committee is set to meet at noon to decide on the new Goa chief minister and the new leader will be elected at 4:00 in the evening. Parrikar is scheduled to go to Delhi on Saturday evening after the new chief minister takes over the charge. Parrikar will also file his nomination on Monday for Rajya Sabha seat from Lucknow. New Delhi, Nov 08 (ANI): The BJP Parliamentary board meeting on Saturday took place in party’s headquarters in the national capital to discuss the induction of 10 new faces in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Union Cabinet including Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, about Goa legislative party’s leader and Rajya Sabha candidates from UP. Mayawati lashes out at incumbent UP government ahead of polls

Lucknow, Nov 05 (ANI): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief Mayawati, on Wednesday (November 05) lashed out at the incumbent government of Uttar Pradesh for its dismal law and order situation and also sought imposition of President's rule in the state. Mayawati was speaking ahead of the Rajya Sabha (upper house of the parliament) polls for 10 seats, scheduled to be held in Uttar Pradesh on November 20. She also said the government of Samajwadi Party was introducing schemes only on paper to divert attention from its inadequacies.
