Reactions flow as govt brings ordinance on cancelled coal blocks

New Delhi, Oct 21 (ANI): Political reactions flowed on Tuesday after government announced to pass an ordinance for e-auction of the cancelled coal blocks. BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh said that this step of the government should be welcomed as it will solve the power related problems which emerged after cancellation of the coal blocks by Supreme Court. Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit said that this had to take place because the country could not stop generating coal. Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that it is futile to talk of an ordinance until its integrity is clear. Ten-year-old terminally ill Sadiq becomes Hyderabad Police Commisisoner for a day

Hyderabad, Oct 16 (ANI): Ten-year-old terminally ill Sadiq always wanted to catch thieves and uphold the rule of law and his dream came true when Hyderabad Police Commisisoner Mahender Reddy handed over his position to him for a day. Sadiq dreamt of sitting on the Police Commissioner’s chair at his desk, sign important files, and give instructions to the orderlies. Clad in a khadi colour uniform and a cap, Sadiq beamed up with joy. Sadiq, who hails from Karimnagar, is suffering from blood cancer and wanted to be police commissioner. His last wish was fulfilled by the help of an NGO, ‘Make a Wish Foundation’ that decided to fulfill Sadiq’s dream on humanitarian ground. Oct 16, 2014

Operations on to rescue four year old who fell in borewell in Telangana

Telangana, Oct 14 (ANI): Rescue operations are underway on Tuesday to rescue a four year old girl who fell into a borewell in Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district two days back. The incident occurred Sunday morning on the outskirts of Manchala village when the girl accidentally fell inside the open borewell at an agricultural field while playing when her grandparents were working in the field. Police and revenue officials, besides teams of NDRF, fire, geologists, and a coal mining company are involved in the rescue operations. The borewell is nearly 300-feet deep, officials say.
