India's foreign ministry solving immigration issues to bring back nationals from Iraq

New Delhi, July 3 (ANI): MEA Spokesperson, Syed Akbaruddin, said facilities were being made available through community welfare funds to pay for immigration fines of stranded nationals in strife-torn Iraq. Addressing mediapersons in New Delhi, Akbaruddin said immigration issues were impeding the evacuation of Indian nationals. About 10,000 Indian nationals work in Iraq, mostly in areas unaffected by the fighting between the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and the national army. Singapore Foreign Minister meets Indian PM to bolster bilateral ties

New Delhi, July 2 (ANI): Singapore's Foreign Minister, K Shanmugam, met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday on the second day of his five-day visit to reaffirm mutual cooperation between the two Asian countries. Shanmugam's state visit, which started on Monday, also includes plans to visit southern cities of Chennai and Hyderabad. Indian community welfare funds transferred to our mission in Iraq: MEA

New Delhi, June 29 (ANI): Briefing on the Iraq crisis, MEA Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin on Sunday said that Indian community welfare funds (ICWF) have been transferred to India's mission in Iraq. He said that certain parts of the funds will be used in assisting the Indian nationals stranded in the violence hit country. Akbaruddin also talked about Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj's meeting with the ambassadors of the gulf countries.
