New York, Sep 29 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met Henry Kravis, CEO of American private equity fund Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Co (KKR) followed by Laurence D. Fink of BlackRock. Before meeting with Kravis and Fink, Prime Minister also had a similar one-on-one with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Boeing James McNerney. KKR and Co. is an American multinational private equity firm, specializing in leveraged buyouts, headquartered in New York. PM Modi wins hearts of Hindu activists at Madison Square Garden in New York

Hyderabad police academy donates a day's salary for J and K flood victims

New Delhi, Sep 29 (ANI): Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that Director General of SVP National Police Academy in Hyderabad, Aruna M Bahuguna met him to donate funds for relief work in Jammu and Kashmir. Salman Khan donates Rs.50 lakh for J and K relief fund

New Delhi, Sept 28 (ANI): Bollywood actor Salman Khan who is known for big heart and runs Being Human NGO has reportedly donated Rs.50 lakh for relief and rehabilitation of Jammu and Kashmir flood victims. A leading daily quoted a source close to the actor as saying, "Given that Salman does a lot of charity and he runs the NGO Being Human, it's not surprising that he has stepped up for a noble cause. What happened in Jammu and Kashmir was a big natural disaster and he wanted to lend a helping hand." This is not the first time when the actor came forward to fulfill his social responsibility. Cabinet gives nod to clean India mission

New Delhi, Sep 25 (ANI): Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave nod to clean India mission, 'Swacch Bharat'. Law and Justice Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, told reporters that number of plans were piloted during the Cabinet meet. The Programme consists of components for providing individual household, community and public toilets and municipal solid waste management in all 4041 statutory towns. The Cabinet also approved setting up of Clean Ganga Fund with voluntary contributions citizens, NRIs and Person of Indian Origin toward the conservation of the river Ganga. This initiative would supplement Namami Ganga Programme. The Cabinet also approved restructuring of the "Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan" (NBA) into "Swachh Bharat" Mission (rural) by a perfect synergy for clean Ganga (Ganges). Sep 25, 2014
